IceFish Exhibition photograph Visitors at the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition

This long-running event started in 1984 and has, since the first exhibition, more than doubled in size.

The three year cycle of the show is a direct response to the wishes of the exhibiting companies, as it ensures they have new products on display at each event.

This year the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition incorporated the opening ceremony, the inaugural IceFish Conference - Fish Waste for Profit,  a business to business matchmaking event, two additional conferences and the popular Awards Ceremony.

With record-breaking visitor and sell-out exhibitor attendance figures the event provided something for everyone involved within the commercial fisheries sector. Over 500 exhibitors were in attendance from 32 countries and five continents, who provided an array of offerings from processing and catching equipment, through to by-waste management and utilisation solutions.  First time exhibitors from China, Germany, Japan, Turkey and USA promoted their offerings during the three day exhibition. The exhibition stands spaces were a sell-out.

Visitor attendance at the event rose by 12% to 15,219 compared with the previous event in 2011, making this the highest ever attended Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition. Visitors arrived from 54 countries across all corners of the world, which was also an impressive leap from previous years.
