The 10th Icelandic Fisheries Exhibiton opens today at Smarinn, Kopavogur, Iceland.

The 10th Icelandic Fisheries exhibition was opened this morning by the Icelandic Minister of Fisheries & Agriculture, Jón Bjarnason. Mr Bjarnason then toured the exhibition with VIPs to meet exhibitors and see the exhibits.

With a fleet of 1,582 registered fishing vessels landing 1,125 million tonnes of fish, the Icelandic fleet represents state of the art of fisheries technology. This hub of fishing technology means there is always something new on offer.

Skippers and owners update and modernise their fleets frequently and the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition provides exhibitors with the ideal opportunity to meet and discuss new requirements.

The Exhibition covers every aspect of the commercial fishing industry from catching and locating to processing and packaging, right through to marketing and distribution of the final product.

The Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition is now open for 3 days (22-24 September). Visitors can register on arrival and there is plenty of free parking on-site. So come along and see what is new in the world of commercial fishing!
