Icelandic Fisheries Awards 2011

Icelandic Fisheries Awards winners 2008

Icelandic Fisheries Awards winners 2008

22 September 2011, Gerðarsafn Art Gallery, Kópavogur

Launched in 1999, the Icelandic Fisheries Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievement in supplying the fishing industry within Iceland and internationally. The awards categories fall into two sections: Icelandic companies and non-Icelandic companies. For details of the awards for Icelandic companies, please contact Fiski Frettir’s editor Gudjon Einarsson. The international (non-Icelandic) awards are open to companies anywhere in the world.

This year’s awards ceremony will take place at the beautiful Gerðarsafn Art Gallery on the opening night of the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition (22-24 September 2011). For the third time the Icelandic Fisheries Awards will be jointly hosted by the Icelandic Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture and City of Kópavogur.

The winners will be announced on the 22 September 2011 during the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition’s opening night reception, which will be held at the Gerðarsafn Art Gallery, Kópavogur. Starting at 18:00, guests will be welcomed by the hosts and will be served canapés and cocktails whilst networking with colleagues and business associates. At 19:00 the presentation to the winners of the awards will take place in a slick ceremony, lasting no longer than half an hour, ensuring plenty of time for more networking with key Icelandic and international people from the fishing industry. Guests must be in possession of an invitation when arriving at the reception, a limited number of invitations will be available. To request an invitation, please contact Karen Tolley (Ktolley@mercatormedia.com, telephone: +44 (0) 1329 820099) or visit the organiser’s office during the exhibition.

The judging panel will consist of cross sector industry experts, spearheaded by World Fishing’s editor Carly Wills.
